Throughout the 369 political wards in the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State, incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured a clean sweep in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries held on Saturday.
At Oku II, Ward 11 in Uyo Local Government Area, party faithful led by the Council Chairman, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, turned out in large numbers, securing victory for the President.
After the voting process, the Returning Officer (RO), Hon. Marshall Marshal Effiong, officially declared President Tinubu as the winner in Ward 11, describing it as “peaceful and well-conducted exercise.”
During his remarks, Udo, who also serves as the state branch chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), thanked all party faithful for their commitment, discipline, and steadfast support throughout the exercise, noting this came after earlier appeals by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno.
