The American singer received an honorary doctorate in Visual and Performing Arts
American singer Chris Brown has been awarded an honorary doctorate in Visual and Performing Arts by Harvest Christian University in Los Angeles.
The musician announced the news on social media over the weekend, sharing photos of himself in academic regalia at the ceremony.
Chris Brown also posted an image of the honorary Doctor of Philosophy certificate he received from the institution.
He marked the occasion by posting images of his certificate on social media, with the caption, “I DID A THING!”, reflecting his excitement over the recognition.
Honorary doctorates are given by institutions to acknowledge an individual’s contributions to a particular field or to society. Unlike traditional academic degrees, they are awarded without the recipient completing a formal programme of study.
Multi-award-winning star
Chris Brown rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with hit songs such as “Run It!”, “Forever”, “With You”, and “No Guidance”.
He has built a career over the years as a singer, songwriter, dancer and performer.
