Onuachu and Shomurodov outscore Osimhen to claim Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot

Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu and İstanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov have shared the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot for the 2025/2026 season after finishing as joint top scorers, edging out Victor Osimhen in a tightly contested race.

The Nigerian striker had an impressive season, scoring 22 league goals, which earned him the top scorer award.

On Monday, the Nigeria Football Federation also congratulated the forward on X, commending his outstanding form throughout the season.

“Paul Onuachu was a force to reckon with, scoring 22 goals in the Süper Lig this season,” the NFF said.

Onuachu’s consistency and clinical finishing in crucial games proved decisive, as he held on to his lead at the top of the scoring charts in the closing stages of the season.

İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov also had an impressive season, scoring about 22 goals, while Fenerbahçe’s Anderson Talisca finished close behind with 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, one of the league’s biggest signings, ended the season with 15 league goals, finishing outside the top three scorers despite several standout performances.

Following closely was his teammate, Mauro Icardi also ranked among the league’s top scorers with 14 goals, ensuring Galatasaray remained well represented in the upper part of the standings.

Although the Golden Boot race was closely contested for much of the season, Onuachu eventually pulled ahead to clinch the award and emerge as the league’s highest scorer.
